A hand-printed poster about the city of São Paulo.
Poster for the Letterpress Reloaded exhibition, São Paulo, Brazil.
︎Selected for the 11th Brazilian Graphic Design Biennial (Bienal ADG) in 2015.
This poster was part of the Letterpress Reloaded exhibition, shown during the ATypI conference at FAAP, in
São Paulo, Brazil. It has later been shown as part of the exhibition at the Museu da Lingua Portuguesa (Museum of the Portuguese Language, São Paulo, Brazil).
The design explores the rough texture of wood, achieved by printing the back of type blocks, arranged into an abstract geometric urban landscape. Like the city of São Paulo, the poster is grey, gritty and a bit rough around the edges, but there lies the interest.
The poster was designed, typeset and printed by hand at The Arm Letterpress Studio in Brooklyn, NY.
